Joanna Krupa & Derek Hough - (futuristic) Paso Doble (FF to 1:30 for the dance)

Derek got a well-deserved Emmy nomination for this choreography.  I’m back and forth between who’s the better choreographer—Derek or Mark Ballas—but Derek seems to come out on top for staying truer to the spirit of the dances.  This is the best choreography of the series.  It’s definitely a Paso, but the freshest take on a Paso I have ever seen.

A lot of times, my favorite dances are my favorites because of who is performing them.  So, the fact that this Paso makes it into my Best list is a feat because I still don’t know who Joanna Krupa is and I don’t care about her at all.  This is just really good dancing.
