Look at these photos. These are the last two scarves I made.
My friend Ketan wanted a big, puffy white scarf. So I made him one. He should probably invite me over for dinner soon but I’ll let him propose that all on his own (Hi, I know you’re reading this, cook for me, thanks.)
As for the bright orange scarf…
Last year, a friend of mine gave me a sewing machine and a big bag of yarn and crafty-type things that belonged to his grandmother who had recently passed. All kinds of fun things in there. A couple of weeks ago, I was checking to see if there was any red for a hat I need to make when I saw this BRIGHT orange, a color that you never just stumble upon in a store, right next to a gorgeous purple. Those are Clemson’s colors and they were up for the ACC Football Championship this past weekend, so I made them a scarf for good luck. (They won.)
I’m presently trying to get a Yarn Party together somewhere in town, just a group of folks who knit or crochet and would like to do so with beverages—possibly alcoholic—and storytelling.
So let’s just add this up:
- knit/crochet
- Days of Our Lives
- regular cornbread baking and sweet-tea making
If anyone in NYC is in the market for a 75 year old southern spinster, holla atcha boy.
