Not in so many words, but still. You know that’s what he wanted to say.
From ABC News:
Republicans continue to call on President Obama and his campaign to give an apology for questioning Mitt Romney’s role at Bain Capital. They won’t be getting one.
“No, we won’t be apologizing,” the president said in an interview aired today. “Sometimes these games are played during political campaigns. Understand what the issues are here: Mr Romney claims he’s Mr. Fix-it for the economy because of his business experience, so I think voters entirely legitimately want to know what is exactly his business experience.”
In case you haven’t been paying attention, let me get you up to date.
Mitt Romney was High Holy Emperor over at Bain Capital and he says he retired in 1999. However, he was still signing papers as CEO up through 2002. People wanna know what the real deal is, and rightfully so. It’s not a few months. It’s not like when you’re filling out a job application and you can’t remember if you started working at Pizza Hut in July or September back in high school. It’s three years. Were you retired or not?
Romney’s lame answer is that he “left” Bain in 1999 to save the Salt Lake City Olympics, but it was supposed to be a temporary leave. Well, he never went back to work. He was still CEO (and making CEO money and funneling those moneys to offshore accounts all over the globe) but he wasn’t actually WORKING there. He was just making money. But not working. Which is basically how he describes welfare but whatever. Since he never went back, in 2002 he retroactively retired to 1999. All those signatures and stuff were just rubber stamps. He was signing his name to things that he really had no part of, either taking credit for stuff he didn’t do, or giving approval to stuff he didn’t read.
Great explanation. You sound like a great president.
We asked you some questions about whether you were or were not running your company for three years, and you mad? You cannot be serious. Aren’t some of you people STILL saying Obama is a Muslim foreigner? We owe Romney an apology because we asked him to explain where he worked for three years, but nobody owes Obama an apology for being asked to repeatedly prove where on this planet he fell out of a vagina? Forreal?
There’s no double standard in politics at all. Nope. It’s totally fair and balanced.
