Even now, with all the evangelical politicians (two words that should never go together, mind you) we’re still not a very Christian nation. Most folks are just conveniently Christian. Like at Christmas when it’s time for presents. Or when showing your faith involves nothing more taxing than waiting in line for a sandwich…
