So let's talk about _____ .
How to win the Presidency: Lie, Cheat, and Steal, the Mitt Romney Story.

Tell some lies, suppress some voter registrations, and buy voting machines.  This is the strategy of the Republican party for this election.

Politics hasn’t been about the issues in a long time, but I think we can safely say that this election has clearly moved us so far out of the realm of substance that it’s not even about policy anymore.

A perfect election would look like this:  This is what I believe and this is how I disagree with the opposition and if you agree with me, you should vote for me.

Our elections look like this:  This is some of what I believe, fleshed out by some things that I might not totally believe but that sound good to this particular audience.  This is how I disagree with the opposition, by calling him names and making him look bad and making you angry enough at him that you’ll have to vote for me.

And that’s both sides, Democrats and Republicans alike.  But Republicans are going above and beyond our already dysfunctional campaign standard and pulling out tricks I never thought possible.

We already know the Romney Machine is full of lies.  He’s been caught in lies, fact-checked to death, and had his prior positions and current positions placed against each other to show the kind of immoral opportunist he really is. Noticing how hard it really is to lie your way into the White House, his fan base is getting desperate and now they’re stealing.

Authorities Arrest GOP Contractor For Throwing Away Voter Registration Forms

Several days after a man was spotted in Harrisonburg, Virginia, allegedly discarding several completed voter registration forms in a private home accessory store dumpster, deputies in Rockingham County arrested a 31-year-old Pennsylvania resident affiliated with the Republican Party of Virginia and charged him with multiple felonies in connection with the incident.

Colin Small is reportedly employed by Pinpoint, a firm hired by the Virginia GOP to register voters. He was charged with four counts of destroying voter registration forms, eight counts of failure to disclose voter registration forms, and one count of obstruction of justice.

More charges could be forthcoming.

First of all, let’s go ahead and address the pink elephant in the room.  That 31-year-old white man must be using that goodGOOD moisturizer because he looks fresh as a sweet sixteen party.  Somebody needs to ask him what he’s doing and then tell that to Britney Spears.

But in all seriousness, how desperate is your situation when you have your supporters breaking laws to get you elected?  If you’re Mitt Romney, this should be the point where you say “Well damn, I must really suck.  Even my fans don’t think I can get elected outright.”  Who knows how many other places this is going down.  We have Republicans all over the country trying to pass laws to disenfranchise (Democratic) voters, and when that doesn’t work, they just literally take the law into their own hands and throw it away.  How many places is this happening?  This guy just happened to get caught, but we all know the first person to get arrested is never the first person who tried it.

This is horrible, but never fear!  I saved the worst part for last!

Voting machines.

We can drop folks from the edge of space and carry the internet in our pocket but we can’t get a little machine to tally votes correctly.  Sometimes old school is the best school and I say we go back to writing our vote on a slip of paper and have some little old ladies count them.  Or we can each get a rock and drop our rock into the bowl for the candidate of our choice.

What we DON’T do is use already faulty voting machines from a company squarely in the pocket of one of the candidates on the ballot.  You need to watch this video.

Let me summarize.

Hart Intercivic makes voting machines (faulty ones, but whatever).  Most of Hart’s directors come from a private equity firm, HIG Capital, that just started heavily investing in Hart in 2011…just in time for the election.  Of HIG’s 49 partners & directors, 47 are white men and 12 of those used to work for Bain Capital, Mitt Romney’s company.

And that’s where the Republicans are right now.  Lies aren’t working?  Let’s steal Democratic registrations.  That doesn’t work?  Let’s buy off the voting machine companies.  They are so transparently desperate to get that colored Socialist out of office, it would be laughable if it wasn’t real life.

But this is real life.  So go tell your friends because people aren’t paying attention.
