Just had a thought about Dance Moms and gymnastics.

This is possibly the gayest thing I’ve ever written, but does anybody else see the Maddie/Chloe rivalry and think Shawn Johnson/Nastia Liukin?

Cannot believe I’m about to write this.
I’m 100% using up all my gay points for the week in actually putting this on the internet.

I remember when Shawn and Nastia went head to head at every competition. Nastia was amazing. She had long lines and an easy elegance, but Shawn always came out on top and Nastia ended up being the also-ran. Every single time. But then a couple of years went by, and Nastia became the number one and won all those medals in Beijing, not Shawn. Still, Shawn is the “star” and people forget that Nastia was actually the better gymnast in the long run.

That’s totally how I see Maddie and Chloe. Chloe is the Nastia Liukin of Dance Moms. She has long lines and about as much grace as a 9 year old can have. She’s an amazing dancer, but she’s always second to Maddie and Maddie is the star. Even how they look: Shawn/Maddie = short, compact, brunette; Nastia/Chloe = taller, lithe, blonde.

In the long run, I feel like Chloe will end up the better dancer just like Nastia. She might not become a “star” but she’s gonna turn out to be an awesome ballet dancer. Don’t get discouraged Boo!
