I really don’t know why I decided to see this movie.

I hate romantic comedies.
Stand-up isn’t that funny, unless it’s pre 1998.
I don’t really like movies made by people who like Brooklyn way too much.

But I decided to see it anyway, and I thoroughly enjoyed this adorable-ass movie. It really is the funniest movie I’ve seen all year. Sleepwalking plus relationship study plus horrible parenting plus awkward white people plus This Really Is A True Story equals a really unique movie-going experience.

You should get in on this.

“Growing Up Black” - 5 Year Old Comedian

So this little kid basically just described my entire childhood. I just fell the fuck out when he started brushing his face. LOL at Black Parents! And I already know I will be SUCH black dad when I get old. I already tell long-ass, drawn out stories like my daddy and eat peanut butter out of the jar.

Anyway. Can this kid have a show? I’ll watch it. Even it’s on BET. (maybe)

Miss Judi showed me this last night on the train back from Connecticut. Full Disclosure: this is pretty much what I think of when I see 3 or 4 white girls hanging out together. I’m just being honest, okay? No shade intended.

America’s Got Talent: Melissa Villasenor - Comedian/Impressionist

I needed to lighten things up after that last post and I came across this on Towleroad at just the right time! All of her impressions are pretty spot on, but my jaw hit the FLOOR when she got to Kathy Griffin and Christina Aguilera. I need her to be on SNL like…yesterday. This girl across from Kristin Wiig? Stop IT! I would die.

I feel like we live in some sort of weird timespace where chicks aren’t allowed to be funny anymore. We see them in comedies…but not necessarily BEING funny—more like having funny things happen around/to them. Hopefully Bridesmaids has ushered in a new age. Funny ladies win.

A clip from Delirious…the one where Eddie is in that gay-ass red leather suit. Anybody who can watch Eddie’s standup and say that man is a pussy-loving, heterosexual is blind and deaf because obviously he’s as sweet as a sugar sandwich. But that’s a funny little closeted homo.
