Zimmerman Defense: Trayvon deserved it because he had angry texts.

I’m paraphrasing and drawing conclusions here, but I can’t imagine another endgame George Zimmerman’s defense is going for by trying to get Trayvon Martin’s text messages released as evidence in the trial. They are trying to blame the victim and portray him as an angry black juvenile delinquent to somehow justify the fact that Zimmerman is a cowardly racist.

Why The US Sucks at Math & Science Reason #86.
Because we send students to jail for conducting experiments they didn’t get approval for in advance.

Kiera Wilmot got good grades and had a perfect behavior record. She wasn’t the kind of kid you’d expect to find hauled away in handcuffs and expelled from school, but that’s exactly what happened after an attempt at a science project went horribly wrong.
On 7 a.m. on Monday, the 16 year-old mixed some common household chemicals in a small 8 oz water bottle on the grounds of Bartow High School in Bartow, Florida. The reaction caused a small explosion that caused the top to pop up and produced some smoke. No one was hurt and no damage was caused.

No one was hurt and no damage was caused. So why was this child arrested, charged, expelled, and will be tried as an adult for doing a science experiment at 7am?

Gun-wielding sex offender shot in Utah police station.
A man who told authorities months ago that he wanted to be killed by police entered a suburban Salt Lake City police station Monday and pointed a gun at an officer and a records clerk, prompting at least one other officer to open fire on him, wounding the man in the arm.
The shooting at about 8:30 a.m. in the heart of West Valley City caused panic at a bustling train and bus stop nearby, with people taking cover as they heard gunshots and saw officers storm outside with their weapons drawn. No one else was hurt as the suspect was quickly shot and apprehended.

Shot, but not killed. Apparently, Utah police officers — unlike the NYPD — know how to shoot would-be criminals in the arm instead of shooting-to-kill multiple times and injuring innocent bystanders in the process.

Child dies after parents try to pray the sickness away.
Religious freedom or child endangerment?

A Pennsylvania couple may face charges after their 8-month-old son died after a week of suffering from diarrhea and trouble breathing. Instead of seeking medical attention, the couple, whose fundamentalist Christian beliefs teach faith healing, prayed for his recovery. Should they be charged for not seeking the help of a professional or should their beliefs be covered under religions freedom?
Did I mention they also lost a toddler to bacterial pneumonia 4 years ago?

Dead bombing suspect heavy into hip-hop.
That is an actual headline this morning after a shootout with police left one of the Boston bombers dead while the other is still at large.
Heavy into hip-hop. Because, if you hadn’t noticed, these boys look too white and the media is pouncing on anything brown they can find, no matter how small or irrelevant. One of the suspects is dead. And he is decidedly not brown.

Evangelist Benny Hinn’s son beat up a deaf guy for having a bottle of water.
Considering this is how Benny Hinn heals the sick on stage…

…I really shouldn’t be surprised.
The son of American evangelist Benny Hinn was arrested in Brazil after allegedly beating up a deaf and dumb man during one of his father’s rallies, it was reported today.
Hestephenson Araujo, 21, reportedly needed hospital treatment after the incident on Saturday night during a religious crusade in Manaus, northern Brazil.
Police detained Joshua Hinn, 21, along with two of Benny Hinn’s bodyguards, on suspicion of torture after the three men allegedly locked Mr Araujo in a trailer and physically assaulted him.

I’m pretty sure God does not approve of this. Though, he did approve stoning for all kinds of minor offenses, so maybe a water bottle really should warrant a beatdown.
