In honor of Danity Kane’s reunion (praise!!!!) I’ve been having major girl group cravings. It’s impossible to really rank the greats. The Supremes didn’t really make videos but how can you not have the prototype for girl trios to come? Does it count as a girl group if they play instruments, like the Bangles? Does Destiny’s Child’s choreography put them a step ahead of The Saturdays, who don’t dance?
But, here it is anyway. My favorite girl group videos. I threw this together really quick, so who did I miss? Let me know. Maybe there’ll be a part two.
To be honest…I really don’t even need D. Woods? I mean, she was thick and everything, but her voice was “meh” to be perfectly honest. I still haven’t forgiven Diddy for putting her in Danity Kane over Taquita anyway…
But you guys, THEY LOOK SO GOOD. Aubrey looks like an actual human being and that HalleBerryBoomerangMushroom should be Dawn’s hairstyle for life.
Stop everything you’re doing. This is clearly the most important blog post of the year.
I’ve been having a moment with Danity Kane since Aubrey was on RuPaul’s Drag Race last night, and because sometimes I do that when I’m alone in my room. I’m just **so upset** they didn’t make it because they were everything a girl group needed to be. As such, I’ve fallen into a Youtube hole and I need to share my discoveries of what the girls have been up to.
This is still one of my top three Danity Kane songs (with “Damaged” and “Hold Me Down”) and I stumbled upon this live performance last night.
This makes me so sad that they’re not together. They really put it down every time they got on stage. I was so surprised when Diddy picked Dawn to be in the group because I didn’t even know who she was after watching two seasons of Making the Band, but clearly she was running this. (And still running things big time.)
