To be honest…I really don’t even need D. Woods? I mean, she was thick and everything, but her voice was “meh” to be perfectly honest. I still haven’t forgiven Diddy for putting her in Danity Kane over Taquita anyway…

The really unfamous third of Dirty Money (Diddy being famous and Dawn being moderately famous) released a mixtape. It is SUPER extra-medium. So bored with this. Except this song. I’m usually not on board when a song slips into a new character halfway through the track—one half is always better than the other. But the beginning of this song is a banger and then Kalenna just smooVes it out a little for the last half. More stuff like this please, Ms. Harper, and less of that Everything Else You Made.
(Well, “Pain & Alcohol” is also good. But you really can’t hate a song built on lyrics like Cause I’m feelin like a white girl / on cocaine / Took three Vicodin / I feel strange / Pushin one hundred hittin curves in the rain /shouldn’t drive drunk with love on the brain )
Plain and simple. His track record for taking a talented artist with a promising career and dropping them off halfway between Forgotten and Irrelevant is astounding.
Craig Mack: One album in 1994…dropped off the face of the earth.
Mase: On top of the world with two successful albums! Got disillusioned and became a preacher.
Total: Can we put an APB out on Total? Cause none of them hoes have made a peep outside of being spotted in Atlanta lesbian bars all the time.
Loon: Platinum album…Got disillusioned, converted to Islam, and became a preacher.
Mark Curry: Wrote a whole book about how whack Diddy is after leaving Bad Boy.
DaBand: Gold album…broke up. Danity Kane: Two platinum albums…Diddy broke em up. Day26: Gold album…broke up. Donnie Klang: Sang in a mall somewhere probably.
Cassie: Hit single…everybody discovered she couldn’t sing, so she shaved a third of her head and gets her picture taken.
But Bad Boy does have some jams. So the Sunday Videos for today are all some of my favorite Bad Boy hits.

I’m STILL a Danity Kane fan, if there’s ever a reunion, I’ll be front and center, no shame. That said, I’m glad Dawn is still on her grind with this music thing, trying to make a go of it with Diddy Dirty Money…but half of that album is completely whack and NO GROUP is going to be a success with Diddy as the leader and rapper. Sean Combs….NOBODY ACCEPTS YOU AS A RAPPER! LET IT GO!
Back to Dawn.
Her mixtape came out and I just heard the lead single on Bossip. Go give it a listen if you want. If you dont’ want, I understand….and you’re not missing a whole lot. I’m pulling for you Dawn, but you just gotta come better than that. :-/ It’s not BAD, but no radio station is about to play it.
Here’s hoping the next one is a hit though! Because you still have fans. There’s like…seven of us.
