John Lunn - Downton Abbey Suite

This is outstanding.

The first time I saw Downton Abbey I thought this was one of the most amazing themes I’d ever heard for a television show…but it fades away oddly.  The actual show starts at such an awkward place in the score.

But this.  THIS.  This is the move right here.  The version with lyrics is ohkay I guess (they used it during a dance on DWTS last night) but this is just straight up Victorian drama.  

I feel like I should be manically cooking a meal for 17 people now.

I am so glad she won an Emmy for this.  She’s had a lot of “perfect” roles but I feel like she’s having the time of her life playing this bitchy old bird.  

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve replayed this scene.  If you don’t (or have no desire to) watch the show, don’t worry—this clip has nothing to do with the plot really.
