Kelly Rowland “Keep It Between Us”

This was, hands down, my favorite R&B song of the past year.  I’m so glad she released it as a single.  I sorta wish the video was sexier because the music definitely is.  But.  At least she got off that sound stage where she shot her other 3 videos and actually went somewhere.

Kelly Rowland “Keep It Between Us”

This is quickly becoming my favorite song of the year.  Kelly just got in the booth and delivered this song.  No “sangin” or vocal pyrotechnics.  She just put it down, let the melody do its work, and stepped back.  I shudder to think of the wailing screams Beyonce would’ve ad-libbed all over this.  

Rarely does a song come out that I can find both sexy and sweet at the same time.  It’s hard to make someone wanna get naked and then smile, but this is pitched perfectly between Romance and the GoodStuff.  This is one of only 3 songwriting credits Kelly has on her new album, but if this is what happens when Ms. Rowland sits down to right a song?  Yes please.  I am on board with That.

This is some classic, smooth R&B right here.  Get into it.
