So let's talk about _____ .
     Read this quote.

“I’m interested in why someone would support a party that doesn’t necessarily support equality for that person. And I can only assume it’s about the wallet. It’s about ‘I’m a fiscal Republican’…I can’t understand the idea of saying, ‘Oh well, they’re going to put more money in my bank account. Who cares if they don’t believe I can get married?’ I don’t get it.”

— Andy Cohen, on his confusion over why any gay person would identify as a Republican.

(source)

Andy Cohen annoys me about as much as any person currently on television.  I had no idea he was even capable of making this much sense.

I’d venture to add that it’s not only about the wallet. There’s a lot of self-loathing too. I mean, have you seen Log Cabin Republicans in real life? They’re always the ones on Grindr with profiles like “GL GWM 4 MASC ONLY.”

When a gay Republican says to me that the economy or national security is more important to them than “social issues”…

… I shut down.

Republicans stopped caring about those things when they realized it was easier to win by scaring “traditional voters” into believing Democrats want to kill babies, ban Christianity, give all their tax money to immigrants, and indoctrinate their children into gay sex.  The core of the party is based on the motto “If it’s not WASP, it’s not American, and any deviation is Less Than.”

There’s no possible way to believe that and work for the greater good of the ENTIRE country.
