I’m still in the thick of MDNA. I think a deeply personal dance album is hard trick to pull off successfully and even harder thirty years into a stellar career. Pop stars last 3 years. Not 3 decades. And she is still competing with the best of them (and showing them up in my opinion).
Madonna has been My Pop Star since I was old enough to sing a song. She and Janet are the only two I ever really cared about, and since Janet has dropped off into the Death Star Trifecta of weak albums, bad movies, and weight-loss commercials, Madonna is the only one I can root for.
So, these are my favorite Madonna videos. Some are obvious (Vogue, Like a Prayer) and some maybe need some explanation (Deeper and Deeper, Oh Father). But they’re the ones I happen to like.
Madonna sat down with Jimmy and broadcast their little chat live on Facebook.
1) Jimmy Fallon is SO ADORABLE. I want one. 2) Madonna is really wearing those pants. 3) Love Spent is also my favorite song. 4) Madonna eats ice cream in bed. (You guys, she’s a real person!) 5) She sang some “Borderline.” 6) She’s better than you.
Madonna “MDNA Megamix (Girls Gone Wild, Give Me All Your Luvin, Turn Up The Radio)”
Last Madonna post of the day. Maybe. A friend of mine sent me the Clear Channel megamix preview of her album a couple of hours ago and I figured I’d post it tomorrow so my blog wouldn’t be SO Madonna today…but it’s already all over the internet so let me put my two cents in too.
Amazing.
I’m so glad she made another dance album. ”Girls Gone Wild” could be my new pop jam for the year if the full version is as good as the snippet. When she said she was working with Orbit, I figured MDNA would be Ray of Light part two, but if she went all Confessions on us again? Best idea ever. Girl you are 87 years old. Stick to your roots and makes us dance, Ma’am.
