Woodwinds, STAND UP!! I played oboe, flute & clarinet all through school. Those were some of the best days of my life. Also, the oboe is difficult AS FUCK to learn but majestic once mastered. That shit paid for my college.
I was sitting across from Monica Ellis on the subway a few days ago. I didn’t know who she was until this showed up on my dashboard, but I’m 10,000% positive it was her because I could not stop staring at her. She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my entire life. I just wanted to know what her life was like and what she was carrying with her and I am BOUNCING WITH JOY that *this* is her life.
Things you probably didn’t know about this boss lady, Joyce “Fenderella” Irby.
— Bassist and co-lead singer for Klymaxx. — Helped Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and Babyface & LA Reid open offices in Atlanta, jumpstarting the city as a R&B hotspot for music. — Signed Dallas Austin to her management company while he produced TLC and Boyz II Men’s first albums — Signed/discovered both Sammie and Lloyd
This is one of the best songs you forgot you knew and had no idea who it was by. Thank you Dancing With The Stars for bringing this jam back into my life.
I’m telling you. When these washed-up R&B stars of yesteryear get salty, they get downright Lowry’s Seasoned.
Before Candice Glover won American Idol (::praisehands::) she did a duet of “Inseperable” with Jennifer Hudson. Natalie Cole recorded it nearly 40 years ago and she is not here for J-Hud singing her song.
In honor of Lauryn Hill not being a complete tragic mess at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, let’s take it back to The Score because this is still fire (even if Enya got her lil feelings hurt that rappers were sampling her goodies).
I wish I had the time/ability to make this an actual post, but I am not near a computer so this is as good as it’s going to get. I just needed to let you know that this is actually happening.
One of the guys in the office was jamming to this last week and it’s pretty much been on constant repeat. Remember in 2001 when every video basically looked like this? I wouldn’t mind doing that again.
I also wouldn’t mind Babyface having another actual hit. And Pharrell doing something other than being photographed at things for being Fine & Fashionable @ Forty.
