Chelsea Kane & Mark Ballas - Viennese Waltz (FF to 2:00 for the dance)

Chelsea is my favorite DWTS contestant thus far and I didn’t even know who she was before the show. She’s some Disney kid, but her natural ability coupled with her bubbly personality had me rooting for her from day one! Mark saw how good she was and pushed her each week…most of the time too far for the judges who wanted to see more classic references that Mark wanted to give her.

Same with this dance. Len hated it as usual for being too modern, but I still think it was amazing. The Viennese Waltz is SO BORING but Mark made it whimsical and fantastical and interesting, and that’s no easy feat for a dance that’s older than God duller than toilet paper. She finished 3rd that season—partly because she didn’t have as many fans who knew her and partly because Hines Ward was so infectious—but at least it got her some exposure. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more of Ms. Kane in the future.
