Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced Monday the state will spend another $125 million to increase staffing at hospitals amid a surge in coronavirus cases that has forced them to turn patients away.
(cont. US News)
Brian Kemp refuses to issue mask or vaccine mandates, not even for hospital workers and state employees, as COVID cases skyrocket. He said, “You see where mask mandates are causing fights at sporting events and on airplanes and other things. People know how to deal with the virus.”
No, they do not, because Americans in general are assholes and Republican Americans are violent assholes who cannot stand to be told what to do and have no interest in the greater good or protecting other people.
Instead, of mask/vaccine mandates, he is increasing funding to hospitals, because when your house is flooding, it’s best to just spend a ton of money to add another level instead of turning off the water.
Ivermectin would be so profitable…if it worked.
The US is a deeply capitalist country. Forget doctors, the FDA, the CDC and whoever else is allegedly conspiring against ivermectin. If livestock dewormer worked to defeat or prevent COVID, *all* of the companies who make it would be pushing it for that reason to make more money!
It’s so funny to me that these raggedy ass, anti-government, Facebook Researchers are so convinced the world is cahoots to keep horse paste away from them when the people who stand to make an absolute killing off the sales of horse paste aren’t trying to pimp the shit out!
Merck is an ivermectin manufacturer and they flat out said don’t use it for COVID. You really think they would lie about that and miss out on a bag? Please.
CNN: A parent sent their child to school after a positive Covid-19 test.
More than 80 students may have been exposed, officials say
More than 80 students were potentially exposed to Covid-19 on the first day of class in Reno, Nevada, on Monday after a parent sent their child to Marce Herz Middle School, despite both the parent and child receiving a positive Covid-19 test just two days earlier, Washoe County Health District officials said.
The exposed students had to quarantine at home and started distance learning on Tuesday, the Washoe County School District said.
One side of me feels like a parent of one of the 80 kids who were exposed: How dare this SELFISH and STUPID family interrupt and endanger the lives of 80 other families? You and your kid tested positive for COVID and you sent them to school anyway? JAIL!!!!
The other side of me feels like an armchair socialist: We don’t live in a country that adequately supports working parents. What do you usually do when your kid is sick and you can’t take time off work or afford a sitter? You send them to school with the sniffles anyway.
Nobody wins. Our federal and local governments are the reason we’re in this mess, and the reactions from everyday citizens range from honorable to laughable to desperate to idiotic.
CNBC: Vaccines are being required for travel — here’s how unvaccinated people feel about that
Unvaccinated people are eager to travel again. But more and more, the rules make that harder.
The new rules fall short of true mandates, since people can often avoid them by submitting to rigorous testing and safety protocols. But the “near-mandates,” as they are being called, have the practical effect of making life logistically difficult for some unvaccinated people.
I had to get a meningitis vaccine to travel to my dorm first year of college. Nobody wrote an article about it.
I had to get a yellow fever vaccine to travel around Africa. Nobody wrote an article about it.
Sometimes you have to get vaccinated to travel somewhere. If you don’t want to get vaccinated, then you don’t have to go. You can sit in the house while other people travel. Actually, should just sit in the house period while other people travel, attend concerts, eat in restaurants, go to school, and generally live life responsibly away from people who refuse to.
We don’t need an article about people suffering the consequences of their actions or lack thereof.
